Frogs

A lady I work with gave me some fake frogs for Aidan to play with. He's going nuts with them in the tub right now. Some are being punished and get sat on, others don't survive the space flight and..**SPLAT**...He's such a cute little guy.

I guess I'm not the best sponsor in the world, because the guy who was suppose to show up today had a heart attack. I've been told he's OK and will be going home to recover for about a week. Not quite sure how old he is, but he's the same rank as me, and sounded about my age on the phone...That kinda scares me, especially since my dad has already had one.

I've got that itching in my ears that you can only get rid of by thinking of sandpaper. Unfortunately my imagination took a hit with flu, so instead I just itch...

Me: Aidan please put on your underwear

Aidan (sitting naked on the couch): I will but I need to ask you something

Me: What do you need to ask?

Aidan: What are my penis balls filled with? (he's squeezing himself as he ask this)

Me: They're called testicles, and nothing if you don't stop squeezing them....

We've both been sick over the last couple of days. Last night was horrible. We both ached all over, couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep in, kept going from sweating to freezing... We're both doing better now, although he still has a cough, and I still have a sore throat, and swollen glands...Been taking aspirin and Earl Grey tea...It seems to be working. I also did about 10 minutes on my exercise machine just to stretch out some of my muscles...

Weather has been nasty...Snow, freezing rain, more snow and tomorrow the wind is suppose to pick up...

OK, more from me later...

Captain Kangaroo died. His show was always a little too creepy for me, but I understand that he influenced generations of children... I gues this means Soupy Sales could be next...
Carjacked!

No, not me...Eminems mom on 8 mile road...I don't know why I find that so funny.....
Progress

Finally getting somewhere with the old car. The DMV HQ in Richmond emailed me back to let me know that all my problems started in Guam, where someone at the DMV put "Owner maintains New York Title" on my registration. I don't know why, and getting a hold of someone in Guam to ask them is pointless. What I need to do now is contact New York and have them send me a letter stating I have no NY title. Not a fax or a copy of a letter mind you. Anyway, I should be able to get that taken care of next week if I'm lucky. I'm going out to buy a nice bottle of wine to drink on the day that car is finally out of my driveway.
I like a lot of what John Kerry has to say, but I'm still not sure I'm sold on him. I don't agree with him on gay marriage (he opposes). He is for gay adoption and other legal rights though. His best idea is the refunding of Americorp to allow people to serve two years and then earn 4 years worth of college money for whatever state they're in. I think if the democrats really want a good chance of winning, two of the front runners are going to have to combine efforts as Pres/Vice..

Aidan: "Daddy can you please stop playing your guitar?"

Me: "I'm sorry I thought you couldn't hear it"

Aidan: "Yeah, well some people are trying to go to sleep in here"

I crushed him in about 10 games of connect four today. When he asked how I did it, I told him I have a super-brain and that if he wanted one he needs to eat his fruits and veggies, drink his milk and take his vitamin. He seems very excited to do all this tomorrow...If he does, I'm fairly certain he'll win a game or two...

Took the top bunk off his bed today...he is very happy about that...

I'm having chest pains after drinking a glass of Pinot Grigio...if I don't post any more, it's because I died. I'm hoping some tums and a glass of water will help...this use to happen in Guam, but I haven't had it in a long time...

Probably taking Aidan to the skate park this weekend to get a new helmet and pads and maybe to skate for a while... I'll keep you updated on broken bones etc...

Just wondering

Will the movie "You got served" do for this generation what "Beat Street" did for my generation?

Staying with the pattern

My last couple of post have been 5,4,3 and now 2 days apart... didn't want to upset the balance in nature so I'm posting tonight...

I've been very tired/stressed lately. A move, taking my son to live with his mom, an upcoming PCS, a new car, problems getting rid of the old car...I guess it's all starting to get to me...the good news is that if I should get grey hair or something, I'll still be the best looking man in the Pentagon.

Has anyone out there figured out what they want to do when they grow up? At different times my view of the future has included: doing 30 (not 20) years in the AF, getting out and becomming a contractor, getting out and taking a government civilian job, staying in about 20 years and then backpacking around the world for the rest of my life (no, I did not put that in there as a joke)........OK I lost my train of thought during a phone call so I'll have to finish this up tomorrow...

Cheers..

A Great Pizza

Made pizza last night...very tasty. Aidan's was just mozzarella, but I added ground veal to mine. We used Emeril's garlic sauce instead of making our own...still very good. The dough came out perfect. I added a little more olive oil and sugar than I normally use...

Saw on the news that they're starting to teach strip aerobics classes in the area. I may have to go and watch... It's suppose to be the new workout craze...

Gonna watch the State of the Union and keep track of all the mistakes (might be hard to keep up)...

Chris Pirillo

Site of the week is brought to you by Shanna...

Some of you may remember that I've posted about Chris Pirillo in the past, so here's the link to his site...

62 more days until I take Aidan to Texas. A lot to do in that time. I'm going to the DMV on Wednesday to finish the paperwork to get the title on my old car so I can donate it charity. I need to get rid of a lot of the stuff Aidan has in his room. I need a towing package on my Jeep. I need to get the house more or less cleaned out for when I move... Going to be a hectic time...

I need a vacation. I've never really had one. I'm not talking about the take a few days off from work and sit around the house kind. I'm talking about the kind where I'm on the other side of the planet, out of cell phone range, hold all my calls, relax on the beach with a drink in my hand for several days kind of vacation...

I'm looking forward to doing a remote tour after this...I know I'll be away from Aidan for a long time, but it will give me time to do things for myself, and then hopefully I'll end up in Europe again and he'll come live with me...

I don't think the DC area is for me...the people are fake, the air is bad, and the traffic is horrible. The job market here is good, but I don't know if that's enough... I liked the people I saw when I went to Detroit. I was waiting in a bar for my friend and I just people-watched for a while. These people seemed genuine. No hidden agenda's, just a sort of built-to-last toughness about them...it was very refreshing to see normal people...

I've committed myself to helping get Bush Jr. out of office. I'm not suppose to talk about the commander-in-chief, but you know what...Fuck Bush! He's lied about more things than I can remember, he's ruined the economy, he's made the world hate us...Fuck him and Rumsfeld, and Cheney and all the rest of them...I've never paid much attention to politics, but lately it just seems like everywhere I look I can see examples of where he has directly impacted the life of someone I know...there is a good chance he'll still win, but not because of my vote...

I'm waiting for Aidan to go to sleep, then I'm going to download some songs, and play my guitar....

Have a good one...

I've been reading Al Franken's new book "Lies, and the lying liars who tell them". It's fantastic! I highly recommend it.

I'm looking for to Morrissey's new album due out in April. It's already getting reviewed as his best stuff since the Smiths. I guess we'll have to wait and see though...

Thinking about going to Connecticut this weekend so Aidan can see my grandma's before he goes to live in Texas.

Aidan had the flu all weekend. He's better now though. He got some new timberland boots the other day. When he saw them on the shelf he said "Those are rich", which I'm assuming is something he picked up at school...

OK, more later

Back by Popular Demand!

My site of the night is brought to you by Ed. Thanks Ed.

Have fun kids....

Little Nancy was in the garden filling a hole when her neighbor peered over the fence. Interested in what the cheeky-faced youngster was up to, he politely asked, "What are you doing there Nancy?"

"My goldfish died," replied Nancy tearfully without looking up, "and I've just buried him."

The neighbor was very concerned. "That's an awfully big hole for a goldfish, isn't it"?

Nancy patted down the last heap of dirt then replied, "That's because he's inside your damn cat."

I have nothing to report. Honestly, the New Year is off to a slow start. Tomorrow I go back to work, so hopefully things will get busy. I'm off Tuesday and Thursday, but I have car stuff to do on both days. The big thing is getting a copy of the title to my old car so I can get rid of it. I have the feeling it's going to be a big pain in the ass to do that.

I bought Pirates of the Caribean the other day...very good movie. Aidan has no interest in it all... I also got American Wedding which was very funny. I also picked up the game Civilization, but I need to read the manual to remember how to play first....

Crest White Stips...they may do the bleaching, but they leave a bad taste in your mouth, and I'm just not into having something white, sticky and bad tasting in my mouth...

Cheers!
