Couldn't go fishing today because of the weather. Instead, we went to Target and bought a new iron (Aidan knocked my other one over a couple of days ago), a wall clock, and alarm clocks for our bedrooms. Then we went to books-a-million to get some books for Aidan to read over the next couple of weeks. We have to read together every night and log what we've read and any comments. I think it's a great way for us to do something together. We read the 1st chapter of The Cricket in Times Square tonight. It was a favorite of mine, and I'm hoping it becomes one of Aidan's. We also bought The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, and Bunnicula (about a vampire bunny), and Kavik The Wolf Dog.
I want to go out and dance, or just have a couple of drinks or something...I need a sitter for Aidan, or I need him to age rapidly so he can stay home alone...Sigh.

I miss going out dancing like we did in Germany. That was so much fun... even those nights where the clubs were slow. Like that night where we went and had that raspberry stuff and then to the Filmore, and just walked along in the cold.
Check the AYA on base for sitters. They offer a teen class on sitting with a first aid/CPR course & stuff.
OK, here are a few of Josh's favorites--Aidan might enjoy them as well.
Any of the Captain Underpants books,
the Magic Treehouse series, Geronimo Stilton series--about a mouse newspaper editor and the crazy adventures he ends up on.
Something else to consider, I've bought a lot of the Classics Illustrated for Josh, and he LOVES them--Pied Piper, The Enchanted Fish..etc.
Reading with kids is so fun!
